At the beginning of 2015, SCH had already made a great achievement. On January 13, two 83,000 CBM gas carriers H1071 and H1072, which were developed, designed and built in domestic, were delivered after documents signied at the same time. This is the first time for Chinese shipbuilding enterprises to build and finally deliver VLGC, that means the designing and building capacity of Chinese shipbuilding industry in the field of liquefied gas carrier has ranked into the world’s advanced level. This delivery eliminated the technology lock-in of this ship type in both Japan and Korea, and it also raised the curtain on a new round of structure adjustment and reforming development of Chinese shipbuilding industry in 2015. The 83,000 CBM gas carriers are customized for Frontline Ltd. from Norway. These ships were built by SCH, developed by Jiangnan Shipyard (Group), they are the first generation VLGCs developed, designed and built in China, which reflected the overall advantages and comprehensive strength of CSSC in the field of ocean transportation equipment development and construction. The owners from Norway highly praised the design ability of CSSC, the hard working, dedicated spirit and professional experience of SCH. Meanwhile, the global shipping business is still in depression, but the liquefied petroleum gas transportation is going to enter a golden period, the two VLGC ships delivered this time would take the responsibility of transporting clean, green and efficient energy to the whole world.
