The world class Offshore building base in Shanghai has made better and better performances. On Aug. 28, the first Jack-up Drilling Rig built in Shanghai, which is designed and built for Norwegian Owner by SWS, was successfully launched. In the middle of July, SWS signed building contracts for 2+2 CJ46-X100-D Jack-up Drilling Rigs with Singapore Owner. So far, the company has already historically undertaken the total number of 7+3 Jack-up orders, and achieved continuous and series construction. All above mentioned facts was regarded as a milestone for SWS' operation strategy of "structure adjustment, products upgrading, excellent in shipbuilding, and diversified development". It also paved the way for entering into world high-end offshore projects marketing and further solid the status of Shanghai become the one of world class offshore engineering projects building center. After the "HAI YANG SHI YOU 117"--300 thousand DWT FPSO and "HAI YANG SHI YOU 981"-Semi-submersible Drilling Rig, the JU2000E Jack-up Drilling Rig is another high-end offshore project which is designed and built by SWS. The platform is 70.36 m length, molded breadth of 76.00 m and molded depth of 9.45 m. The deck area is equivalent to 13 times of standard basketball courts. The maximum operation depth is 400 feet and the drilling depth is3000 feet. Particularly, the specialty steel structure such as the spud cans, lifting device, triangular truss legs, cantilever beam of this Jack-up Drilling Rig have never been built in Shanghai. After launching of this Drilling rig, the major tasks in the next stage is mooring at the quay including derrick lifting, pile erection and pile splicing, up-down test, tilt test, drilling co-commissioning test and etc. It will be delivered in the first half of next year. The new contract of CJ46-X100-D, the 375 feet Jack-up Drilling Rig is dual classed by ABS, which is specialized in the exploration and production of offshore petroleum and nature gas. The platform is 65.25 m length, molded breadth of 62 m and molded depth of 8-7.5 m with maximum operation depth of 106m, maximum drilling payloads of 3,500 ton and maximum drilling depth of 9144m. Its drilling efficiency is over 20%-50% more than other similar platforms. This platform is equipped with the top size of main deck, and the cranes are designed to set at the top of the jacking frame. Even the forklift is available to carry the cargoes on its spacious main deck to reduce the usage of the cranes that will reduce the accident as much as possible. The design of lower spudcan height with gentle sloped roof is to make the platform be adapted to its operation condition in sand of North Sea. Despite the market of marine vessels were attacked by the global financial crisis, SWS has adhered to carry out restructuring development and keep the company policy and development direction complying with the national strategy. Base on the insistent prospective R&D, SWS has continuously maintained its competitiveness in fierce market competition. The new building Orders such as the 6th generation of 180 thousand DWT Capesize Bulk Carriers, the 7th generation of 16,000TEU Container Ships, 400 Feet JU2000E Jack-up Drilling Rigs, CJ46-X100-D 350 Feet Jack-up Drilling Rigs and etc, are flowing in. By statistics, in the first half of this year, the total amounts of SWS' new orders including both marine and offshore products was accounting for 11% of world total output, ranked the top in Chinese shipyards.
