SWS has named and delivered the 114,000 dwt Aframax product tanker “P. MARSEILLE” to Greece's Performance Shipping, marking the successful conclusion of a three-vessel series and SWS’s third delivery of the new year.

The naming ceremony brought together senior representatives from Performance Shipping, Cory Brothers, Lloyd's Register, Jiangsu Financial Leasing, Jiangnan Shipbuilding Group, CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping Leasing, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd., and SWS, alongside figures from the shipping and finance industries. Performance Shipping Chairperson Aliki Paliou recited the naming declaration.

In his address, the CEO of Performance Shipping thanked all project partners and highlighted that the series was designed from the outset to set new technological and environmental benchmarks for the fleet. He noted that the vessels not only fully comply with international maritime environmental regulations but are also well-prepared to meet future decarbonization trends. He expressed his anticipation for continued collaboration to explore new journeys in global energy transportation and jointly advance the industry toward a safer, more efficient, and sustainable future.

SWS Chairman Chen Gang stated that the successful delivery of the “P. MARSEILLE” marks the successful completion of the three-vessel Aframax series for Performance Shipping. He emphasized that the vessel embodies the accumulated experience from the series, achieving further optimization in craftsmanship, energy efficiency, and overall reliability, fully demonstrating SWS's technical prowess and dependable delivery capabilities in tanker construction. He expressed gratitude to all partners for their support throughout the project and looked forward to future collaboration in seizing new opportunities within the global energy transport sector to jointly promote the steady development of the shipping industry.

The delivery of the “P. MARSEILLE” solidifies the partnership between SWS and Performance Shipping and reinforces SWS's strong standing in the international tanker market.
