Since the beginning of the New Year, the company sales and production had greeted the peaks one by one with a succession of good news which cheered up the heart of SWS shipwrights. “New Prosperity”, a 318k DWT VLCC (H1306), built for China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd. (CMES) by the company, was named at the third quayside successfully on Feb. 4th. Together with other executives and guests, Su Xingang, Vice President of China Merchants Group and Zhou Mingchun, CFO of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, attended the naming ceremony. The naming ceremony was hosted by Chen Jun, Vice President of the company. Wang Qi, President of SWS, addressed the welcome speech. Wang Qi side that SWS shall exert herself to offer a full range of support and service in the area of vessel design and construction for CMES in the aspect of decreasing the logistic cost and increasing product competition, and expected to create a “Shipbuilding-Navigation” industry chain on the basis of complementary advantages in common during the process to implement the” Maritime Silk Road” of the state. Su Xingang fully affirmed in his speech that the powerful researching and developing ability, excellent constructing level and the perfect working attitude , and wish to strengthen the communication, tie up the partnership and deepen the cooperative friendship. Zhou Mingchun expressed the hope of winning more orders from CMES by excellent types of vessels characterized by “High Return, Low Cost, Low Emission” and whose various economical and-technical norms had reached advanced international level in steady and reliable quality, the best performance-to-price ratio and the shortest delivery terms. He said, with the implementation of state strategy of “One Belt and One Road”, CSSC shall further enhance the sincere cooperation between two central enterprises, produce the connected effect, and make the common contribution to ensuring safety of state energy transportation. Su Xingang named the new vessel to be ”New Prosperity” and Mrs. Liu Ying, assistant general manager of Asset Management Department of Sinotrans & CSC Holding Co., Ltd, cut the ribbon and unveiled vessel’s name in the blessing. It is reported that the company had historically delivered 8 vessels within one month since Jan. 5th in the New Year and created the remarkable achievement of 1,481,800 DWT delivery in total, which broke the highest historical delivery record in a single month of the company and surpassed the annual delivery DWT of that in year 2004. Six among the eight delivered new vessels are 180KBC of the energy saving type. As of now, the company had undertaken 188 vessels of Cape Size bulk carrier and 139 vessels of them had been delivered, continued to uphold the role of maritime overlord as the “World Cape Size Bulk Carrier Construction Center”. In another, “SCH” had already successfully delivered the second VLGC in the same month.
