On July 21st, SWS held a virtual naming ceremony for the 210k DWT Newcastle bulk carrier “Teng May” built for Foremost Group, marking that all 10 bulk carriers of the series independently designed and constructed by SWS for FG were delivered successfully, realizing a perfect completion.
Lei Fanpei, secretary of the Party Leadership Group and chairman of CSSC sent a congratulatory message via video. Dr. James Chao, the honorable chairman of FG, Angela Chao, chairman of FG, Pan Yizhou, president of Shanghai Branch of Foremost Group, Chen Gang, president and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of SWS, and Wu Aijun, vice president of CSTC attended the ceremony. Ms. Nancy Cook named the new ship and cut the ribbon for it online. Zhang Song, assistant president of SWS, presided over the ceremony.

From Capesize and Newcastle bulk carrier to very large ore carrier (VLOC), “SWS-bulk carrier” which shares the largest shipbuilding number at home and the largest market share in the international market has become the first brand of ship export in China. The 210k dwt bulk carrier “Teng May” named and delivered this time is environmentally friendly with double hull protection and green with energy-saving design, and equipped with exhaust gas washing system and diesel engine denitration system in the meantime. It fully meets the latest maritime rules and various environmental requirements, possesses a word-class comprehensive performance, and sufficiently satisfies the shipowner’s requirements for economy and environment to dramatically decrease operating cost.
