On Oct. 18, SWS hosted "2014 IFDOE & SWS Forum" which was with the theme of "Extending maritime trade and economic cooperation, and leading the diversified restructuring upgrade". With the purpose of giving full play to Shanghai's advantages of high-end manufacturing, R&D, industry finance, and human resource highlands, clearing the mind of leading innovation and developing restructuring, this forum discussed on the opportunities, challenges, prospects, solutions and measures of the marine and offshore marketing. This Forum was co-organized by Shanghai Society of Naval Architects AND Ocean Engineers and SWS, sponsored by Shanghai Changxing Marine Equipment Industry Development Co., Ltd, and supported by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization. There were over 200 attendees from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI), Chinese Academy of Engineering, CSSC, CNOOC, International Oil and Gas companies, Offshore companies, Class Societies and research institutions. The Chairman of CANSI, Mr. Guo Dacheng, President of CNOOC Planning Dept, Mr. Jiang Xiaojian, President of The Export-Import Bank of China Shanghai Branch, Mrs. Li Li, CEO and Chairman of Shandong Offshore Engineering Equipment Co.,Ltd./ BOD, Mr. Sun Yuanhui, CTO of BW Offshore, Mr. Thyl Kint, President of MSP/Drilex international, Mr. Richard Tan and Executive Director of the Board of RICHTECH, Mr. Chen Wei delivered their speeched respectively around the topics of "Current situation and future development of China Shippbuilding Industry","The Demands and Development of Offshore Engineering Equipment","Under the New Situation of Financial Transition Boosting Offshore Development and Upgrade", "Current situation, challenges and opportunities in offshore drilling rigs market " and etc. The Chairman of SWS, Mr. Huang Yongxi delivered the speech with the topic of "Globalization and diversification: leading a great SWS towards an outstanding SWS" in the forum. The date of Oct. 18, 2014 is the 15th anniversary of SWS' foundation.
