July 31, 2025 – The naming ceremony for the P. Massport, the first 114,000 DWT Aframax product tanker built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (SWS), a subsidiary of CSSC, for Greece’s Performance Shipping, was successfully held. The vessel had been officially delivered on July 29.

Representatives from Performance Shipping, Lloyd’s Register, Jiangsu Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), and SWS, along with delegates from the shipping and financial sectors, attended the ceremony.

Ms. Nicole Goumellos served as the naming sponsor and officially christened the vessel.

Strengthening Partnerships through Innovation
Mr. Andreas Michalopoulos, CEO of Performance Shipping, remarked: “The P. Massport is the first tanker built under our own name. We entrusted this project to SWS with full confidence in its exceptional project team and shipbuilding expertise. He highlighted Performance Shipping’s strategic evolution from a container operator to an Aframax tanker owner, pioneering industry transformation toward a greener fleet.
