On November 6th of 2018, during the first China International Import Expo (CIIE), the contract for the design and construction of 2+4 135.5K Gross Tonnage Vista-Class large cruise ships was officially signed and came into effect, which will be jointly designed and constructed by CSSC, Carnival Corporation, and Fincantieri Group. It is the first EPC contract of large cruise ship signed in China. It marks the Chinese Shipbuilding and Shipping Industry came into the official stage of large cruise construction. As the main design and construction body of the first build-in-China large cruise ship,SWS has fully opened the new journey of picking up the most dazzling pearl on the crown of shipbuilding industry.

As the No.1 project of CSSC to put the spirit of Chairman Xi’s important instructions into implementation, implement national strategy and promote high quality development, the first large cruise ship built-in-China had successfully achieved the milestone of floating on December 17, 2021, marking the ship's full transition from the "first half" of structural and outfitting construction to the "deep water zone" of interior decoration and system engineering commissioning. On August 8, 2022, the No. 2 large cruise ship project officially started, and since then, SWS has entered the era of "dual cruise ships" construction.
