On November 11th , 2024, the fifth generic Fast4Ward® Multi Purpose Floater No.5 (MPF5) built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (SWS), as subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) for SBM OFFSHORE, has been delivered, indicating a landmark cooperation between SWS and SBM.
Benefitting from the accumulated experience in the construction of previous hulls and the deepening cooperation among all parties, MPF5 has achieved the shorter construction period than ever since its steel-cutting in April 2023.Moreover, the quality and safety management level of MPF5 project have also made significant progress.
MPF5 adopted SBM OFFSHORE’s proprietary generic hull design. The basic solution is a FPSO with a storage capacity up to 2.3million barrels of crude oil. The generic MPF is designed to be equipped with spread points mooring systems that can be used for the hull to meet a wide range of sea conditions.
