SWS has been awarded Approval in Principle from CCS, for 300,000DWT ammonia duel fuel VLCC with cyber resilience measures on July 3rd,2024。
The ship is developed and demonstrated in compliance with the cyber security notation (P(SL2)) issued by CCS, as well as the Unified Requirement (UR) E26 “Cyber resilience of ships” issued by IACS.
CCS stipulates that there will be five levels for cyber resilience of ship network, from SL0 to SL4. The SL2 level determined after comprehensively balancing the security and feasibility of ship’s network. It aims to enhance the ship's defense capability against cyber attacks, but also adapts to demand of future network, for the digital, intelligent and green shipping industry, comparing to basic SL0 level.
The award of this AIP demonstrates that SWS has establish the mature capability to develop, design and build the ships compliance to cyber resilience. SWS will continue to promote innovation and openness, and introduce green, low-carbon, intelligent and safe ship products.
