SWS successfully named WANG MAY, The 180,000 deadweight ton capesize bulk carrier built for Foremost Group

On July 17th , SWS, subsidiary of CSSC, successfully named M/V WANG MAY, the 180,000 deadweight ton capesize bulk carrier built for Foremost Group. Mr. Nan Daqing, Vice President of CSSC, Ms. Angela Chao, Chairman & CEO of Foremost Group, Mr. Chen Gang, President of SWS. Mr. Lin Shijian, Chairman& CEO of Oriental Asia Shipping Finance Co., Ltd., and Mr. Emanuele Racano, CEO of IFCHOR, attended the naming ceremony. Ms. Fang Shuming cut the ribbon and named the new ship. Mr. Zhang Wei, Vice President of SWS hosted the naming ceremony.


Foremost Group is an important partner of SWS. Since the first cooperation between the two sides in 2002, a total amount of 24 new-ships contracts have been signed continuously, which fully demonstrates the good partnership of the two sides.


In his welcome speech, Chen Gang thanked Foremost Group for its cooperation and trust. He pointed out that guided by the high-quality development strategy of CSSC,  SWS will firmly move towards the goal of building a world-first-class shipbuilding enterprise, and provide ship owners with the best products and services. He sincerely hopes that both side can carry out further cooperation in more fields and joins hands to realize the bright vision of win-win cooperation.


In her speech, Ms. Angel Chao emotionally reviewed the cooperation between Foremost Group and SWS. She said that Foremost Group was one of the first foreign ship owners to cooperate with SWS, and the friendship between the two sides will be timeless. Continuously expanding deeper and wider cooperation with CSSC and SWS in the future, continuously building a friendship bridge of Sino-Western economic and trade cooperation and further promote mutual benefit and win-win results and achieve common development is longly expected.


"WANG MAY" is the fifth-generation of SWS standard Capesize bulk carrier independently developed, designed and built by SWS. It can fully meet the shipowner’s economic and environmental needs in the current market environment, and it is also a brand ship type in the world large bulk carrier market.


"WANG MAY" has a total length of 292m, a vertical line of 286.4 m, a width of 45m, a depth of 24.9m and a structural draft of 18.3m, which meets the requirements of the new code CSR-H,TIRE III and meets the EEDI standard through system optimization. At the same time, the construction of this ship follows the consistent green environmental protection design style of this ship type, and the ballast water treatment system is applied, which meets the standards of MARPOL Annex VI ship gas emission reduction and PSPC, etc., and it is registered into the ABS Classification Society, which will be signed and delivered on the 18th of this month.
