On May 12th, exciting news came from No.5 quay, that H1396, the first 208K DWT bulk carrier built for COSCO Shipping Bulk Co., Ltd., by SWS was grandly named and delivered.

The naming and delivery ceremony was hosted by Wu Yongjun, the Assistant President of SWS. Chen Yan, Vice President of COSCO Shipping Bulk Co., Ltd., also President of both COSCO (H.K.) Shipping Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd;  Wang Hui, Vice General Manager of the Strategy and Enterprise Management Dept. of COSCO Shipping Bulk Co., Ltd.,; Hu Kai, the V.P. of CSTC; Tao Ying, Chief Technical Officer of SWS; Zhou Qi, Vice President of SWS; as well as guests from China Ocean Shipping(Group) Corporation (COSCO Shipping) and CCS were invited to attend the naming and delivery ceremony.

Zhou Qi expressed that COSCO Shipping Builk Co., Ltd is a crucial partner to SWS. The both parties signed contracts to build three 208K DWT bulk carriers and now the delivery of H1396 opened a new chapter of win-win cooperation, and established a solid foundation for the coming shipbuilding task.

Accompanied with joyful firecrackers and applause, The sponsor Wang Hui named the new ship as ‘GUANG YUAN HAI’ and expected her to make good fortune for COSCO and add more credit and glory to SWS.

Chen Yan expressed his sincere thanks to all the staff who had contributed to this project. He pointed out that SWS has been in a deep and fine partnership with COSCO Shipping Bulk Co., Ltd. and provided truly strong support. The delivery of ‘GUANG YUAN HAI’ marked a new phase of cooperation. It is certain that both sides would accomplish new breakthrough in a deeper level and in more fields, and the friendship would last long for sure.

It’s learned that ‘GUANG YUAN HAI’ is the 19th vessel SWS delivered this year. SWS will give full play to its leading advantage in developing and building ‘green, environment protecting and energy saving vessels, thus launch high quality products that are in line with market requirements and owners’ expectations ceaselessly.
