It is reported that there were 28 items for the 2015 annual Offshore Engineering science and technology awards, of which, one for special awards, eight for first awards, nineteen for second awards, there were only three items that are associated with shipbuilding.

SWS’ awarded project comprises 29 patents, in which three invention patents and fourteen utility patents have already acquired authorization, 13 related articles were published in the core journals. According to Shanghai Science and Technology Novelty Search Consulting Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the project already reached international level. Main technologies of the project conclude optimized design of elevating system, new method of cantilever assembly and erection,structure improvement of file legs, penetrating technology of file insertion, safety technology of ventilation system for temporary shelter, many of which filled the gaps in jackup drilling rig construction sector and laid the solid technical foundation for series construction of jackups.

The implementation of the project has boosted the establishment of Shanghai offshore engineering construction center, accelerated the home-manufacturing process of marine engineering equipment and supporting industry, enhanced our market share competitiveness in internal offshore engineering industry and provided strong technical guarantee to our marine power strategy.
