In the afternoon of April 28th, protected by tug boats, H1307, the third 318,000 DWT VLCC, that SWS built for China Merchants Shipping, was slowly tugged out of No.2 dock. It spent only 62 days of in-dock construction period, which has created a new record on the shortest in-dock construction period for VLCC, and it has also reached the advanced level in China. This inspiring news encouraged all employees in the company. It is reported that all departments overcame the holiday and weather disturbance, strictly following the company's schedule for saving time, ensuring progress and strengthening management. The Production Operation Dept. follows up the plan, ensures implementation and timely copes with problems that production departments have; Hull Outfitting and Installation Dept. finalizes installation of windlasses, mooring winches, and hydraulic pipes to ensure the normal use; Erection Dept. arranges manpower properly for ensuring the integrity of hull and its leak tightness which is essential for painting and blasting process; Machinery Installation and Commissioning Dept., and Blasting and Coating Dept. had breakthrough in VLCC shaft installation, which only spent 15 days from the optical of rudder shaft on April 13th to the completion of painting. The successfully launching of H1307 was the result of hardworking and collaboration of all staff, and it greatly reflects the spirit of "labor is the most glorious".
