The Key Milestone of Jack Up--Lifting Cantilever Beams completed in Two Days

In June, there was the good news for the construction of H1288 & H1318 which are two Jack-up Rigs. On June 18, protected by the comprehensive safety measures, with all departments tireless efforts and concerted coordination, the cantilever beam of H1318---general block 70A was smoothly lifted by the 800-ton-goliath crane and successfully completed the erection. In the next day, the transport of the integral structure of H1288 cantilever beam was successfully completed that paved way for the subsequent production.    The cantilever beam is the most critical operation area for drilling system of Jack-up rig where equips lots of complicated T bars and I-girders with the extensive use of Super high-strength or high-strength steel which has the high requirements on welding quality and installation accuracy. Because of the huge number of drilling equipments, both structure construction and equipment installation, are facing the enormous challenges. The construction method of H1288 cantilever beam adopts integration construction, while the one of H1318 adopts two-segment construction of which the cantilever beam is divided into two general blocks of 70A and 70B. The erection and transport of two cantilever beams was not only attached great importance by top management, but also vigorously supported by HSE dept., Design Institute, Quality Assurance Dept., Lean Management Dept from SWS and Production Maintenance Dept. from SWS Offshore.    So far, the cantilever beam of H1288 is regarded as the modularize product with the largest tonnage and top integrity of outfit. The transport of cantilever beam was completed with the cooperation between both SWS and Shanghai Jiaoyun Heavy Articles Logistics Co., Ltd.. With the 6 hours continuous operation, the 1,500-ton-cantilever beam was displaced from No.8 platform to No.4 platform where is close to flood control wall by fully rotation hydraulic pressure flat. The transport of cantilever beam has not only broken the record of heaviest super block in-shipyard transport, but also has provided technology guarantee for the subsequent integral construction and install of offshore engineering projects.
