On April 15th, SWS signed and delivered the 210k dwt Newcastle bulk carrier "DE MAY”, which is built for Foremost Group. This is the 500th vessel delivered by SWS so far since the first delivery on June 22nd, 2003. So far, the total completion has added up to 89.68 million dwt, with an annual average of 27.8 ships / 4.982 million dwt, ranking first in China and top in the world, demonstrating the core strength of SWS.
The delivery ceremony of "DE MAY" was officially held at 1:58 PM of the same day at SWS. Pan Yizhou, president of Shanghai Branch of Foremost Group, Vice President Paul Karam and business development manager Li Zengyi of ABS Great China Region, Zheng Minsheng, deputy general manager of Asia Pacific Department of CSTC, Wang Qi, secretary of the Party committee and chairman of SWS, Chen Gang, deputy secretary of the Party committee and president, Chen Qiong and Zhang Qipeng, top executive leaders of SWS, and others attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Song, assistant president of SWS.

"DE MAY" is a Newcastle bulk carrier tailored for Foremost Group. It is independently developed, designed and built by SWS. Its overall length is 299.88 meters, molded width is 50 meters, molded depth is 25.2 meters, and design draft is 16.1 meters, satisfying the latest maritime regulations and various environmental protection requirements, and its comprehensive performance is first-class.

On October 18, 2019, China's first large cruise ship officially started steel cutting at SWS, fully entering the substantive construction stage. On November 10, 2020, it was transferred to the dock for continuous erection, realizing another milestone, marking that CSSC has achieved a major leap from detailed design and production design to real ship general assembly and erection in the field of large cruise ships, and also marking another solid step in the journey of China's shipbuilding industry to pick the "last pearl in the crown".
