On May 23rd, two of SWS's PX121H type of PSVs "Guo Hai Min Xing" and "Guo Hai Min Sheng", which were built for China Oilfield Services Limited, left SWS Offshore for Tanggu, Tianjin, and officially put into operation.
The two PSVs are designed by Ulstein, a Norwegian company. The vessel length is 83.40 meters, the width is 18 meters, the depth is 8 meters, the deadweight is 3900 tons, the deck area is 840 square meters, and it is classified into DNV-GL. The ship adopts X-Bow type, with one transverse thruster and one retractable thruster respectively. The stern is equipped with two steerable electric-driven thrusters. The whole vessel is equipped with external firefighting system and structural anti rolling tanks, as well as a dynamic positioning DP2 system which can automatically maintain the ship's position and heading within the specified environmental conditions and operating range. At the same time, it can meet the requirements of unmanned engine room and one-man wheelhouse. It has the characteristics of compact overall space, complex equipment system, advanced and complete functions, high requirements for construction and difficulty in management.
With the full support of Guohai and COSL, SWS Offshore withstood the pressure, maintained its determination, made progress despite difficulties with the unique ingenuity and toughness of Chinese shipbuilders, and excellently completed the construction of four PSVs. This is not only an affirmation of the vessel's quality and performance, but also recognition of the construction capability of SWS Offshore and the work of the project construction team.
The successful delivery is the first attempt of "exported ships for domestic resale". Under the current situation of global wide-spread epidemic and downward oil and gas market, it strongly supports COSL's "seven-year plan", and provides strong guarantee for the national offshore oil field to increase reserves and production and national energy security.
Under the adverse impact of the epidemic spreading worldwide, SWS, through multiple supports from China Maritime Administration, Dongjiang Free Trade Zone Administration, China Classification Society, DNV-GL and Panama consulate in Shanghai, cooperated with Guohai and COSL and finally completed the flag changing work.
