On the afternoon of April 15th, accompanied by the solemn national anthem, SWS held the second session of the third staffs' Congress. More than 160 staff representatives from various departments have come together to fully exercise their democratic rights and discuss the company's development plan. The meeting was hosted by Yuan Feipeng, deputy secretary of the Party committee and chairman of the labor union.
The attendees listened to the report on the preparation of the staffs' Congress and the report on the appraisal of the company's staff in 2019. It commended the outstanding employees, advanced labor union organizations, excellent labor union workers and labor union activists of the company in 2019, and mobilized and deployed various tasks in 2020.
Chen Gang, deputy secretary of the Party committee and president of the company, made an administrative work report entitled "firmly win the battle of epidemic prevention and control, management and production, and strive for the full realization of various tasks in 2020", comprehensively summarized the production and management work of the company in 2019, analyzed the current situation and tasks, and called on all cadres and employees of the company, under the leadership of CSSC, SWS Party committee, and board of directors, to closely focus on the annual business policy of "high standard implementation of plan, high efficient allocation of resources, high-quality development of industry and high-benefit management of enterprises" and the management theme of "strengthening foundation and promoting advantages", to actively overcome the impact of the epidemic situation, firmly grasp the opportunity of cruise ship construction, continuously optimize the management improvement, strengthen the implementation of cost engineering, and comprehensively improve the company's management ability, and spare no effort to achieve the goals of the whole year and complete the tasks of the 13th five-year plan.
Wang Qi, Secretary of the Party committee and chairman of the board of directors of SWS, pointed out that in 2019, all the managers and employees of the company were determined to forge ahead and overcome difficulties, and surpassed the annual production and operation indicators. The three major shipbuilding indicators continued to rank among the top in the world, laying a solid foundation for the company's high-quality development. He further underlined that 2020 is the first complete year for the implementation of the company's high-quality development strategy of "leading by the cruise ship, balancing development of merchant vessels and offshore products". Thus, there will be more arduous tasks and greater responsibilities. Facing new challenges, all cadres and workers should learn and implement the requirements of the Central Committee and CSSC for "overall promotion of epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development". They should work hard to implement the requirements, seek unity of thinking, work and act together, and strive to achieve the goals set by the company and win the battle of epidemic prevention and control and the battle of production and operation, creating a new high-quality development situation of "leading by the cruise ship, balancing development of merchant vessels and offshore products".
Wang Qi put forward requirements on how to promote the whole year's work and promote the company's high-quality development: first, SWS should recognize the situation clearly, unify ideas, and implement the new requirements of epidemic prevention and production. Second, SWS should seize the key points, fulfill the responsibility, and implement the new measures of reform and development. Third, SWS should adhere to leading by party building, seek collective wisdom and efforts, and gather new impetus to overcome difficulties. Fourth, SWS should stick to goals and work hard to write a new chapter of high-quality development, closely focus on the original aspiration to be a modern shipbuilding enterprise that is "first in China and leading in the world", and continue to plan the blueprint for new development, create new achievements and show new acts.
