Nov. 28th, 2018, is a milestone day in China's intelligent ship development process. the world's first 400K DWT intelligent very large ore carrier (VLOC) "PACIFIC VISION " , built by SWS, which was tailor-made for CMES, was named and delivered in Shanghai, and marking China's intelligent ship has entered a new era of 1.0 in an all-round way.
Mr. Xie Chunlin, Party Secretary and Managing Director of CMES, and Mr. Chen Gang, Vice Party Secretary and President of SWS, attended the naming and delivery ceremony and delivered a speech, Mrs. Zhou Fengzhu cut the ribbon for the new vessel.

Mr. Zhang Song, Assistant president of SWS, presided over the ceremony.
As a demonstration application unit of intelligent system for ships, SWS has completed the reconstruction scheme of the original demonstration ship and the comprehensive design of perceptive layout from the beginning of the design of the first demonstration ship. After more than one year hard work, SWS has completed equipment transformation, design transformation, signal transformation and outline compilation, and solved various construction and debugging problems caused by the synchronization of intelligent system research and development and demonstration ship construction.
The intelligent ship has achieved six breakthroughs
First of all, it put forward and analyzed the application of the concept of "platform plus application" for the first time, namely the unified network information platform to complete the whole ship awareness information acquisition, processing, analysis, and to the provision of intelligent system operating environment data, solves the whole ship repeat information acquisition, signal standards are not uniform, a series of problems such as insufficient system extensibility of the ship.
Secondly, it has Auxiliary Collision Avoidance decision function in open sea condition for the first time, which can provide collision avoidance advice to crew members, help to solve the problems affecting the navigation safety of ships such as misoperation and leakage operation, and lay the technical foundation for the next step to realize the autonomous collision avoidance of ships.
Thirdly, it realizes ship-to-ship communication for the first time, which solves the problem of direct communication between ships at sea and paves the way for collision avoidance of real ships in the future.
Fourth, it is the first time to realize the function of monitoring the liquefaction of minerals. By monitoring the degree of liquefaction of minerals in the cargo hold, it can provide Suggestions to the crew, solve the problems of the influence of easily liquefied minerals such as iron ore and nickel ore on the stability of ships, and improve the navigation safety of ships.
Fifthly, it realizes the lightweight transmission of integrated ship-to-shore communication and other functions, and sends the data back to the shore after compression and encryption, thus providing a reliable data source for the future construction of shore-based data center.
Sixthly, the intelligent ship symbol of CCS and DNV GL was obtained simultaneously. The ship "PACIFIC VISION" is the latest second-generation 400K DWT VLOC, mainly used for iron ore transportation from Brazil to China, designed by SDARI. The ship has a total length of about 362 meters, a type width of 65 meters, a type depth of 30.4 meters, a structure draft of 23 meters, a speed of 14.5 knots, and a range of 25,500 nautical miles. The whole ship has 7 cargo tanks and 1 liquefied natural gas tank. It adopts energy-saving and environment-friendly solutions such as ultra-long stroke diesel engine, high-voltage shore power, and two-speed optimization, and USES efficient propellers and equipped with front-end regulating wheels and other energy-saving devices. It is characterized by intelligence, economy, green, environmental friendly protection, energy saving and safety. It is reported that the first port of destination of the M.V.
