On morning of August 21th,2018, the unveiling ceremony of large cruise ship thin plate center was held in the Assembly Dept of SWS. Mr. Wang Qi, Secretary of Party and Chairman of board of SWS, Mr. Sheng Jigang, Vice Secretary of Party Committee and President of SWS, together with SWS top management including Mr. Chen Gang, Mr.Yuan Feipeng, Mr.Xiang Xiangde, Mr. Wang Jingjun, Mr. Zhang Song and Directors of relevant departments attended the ceremony.
On the g ceremony, Mr. Sheng Jigang, pointed out that the establishment of the thin plate center is an crucial step in the construction f SWS cruise ship. It covered a wide range, which involved in each process flow of the advance production for thin plate hull block.It was a composite production organization and its pre-construction and late mass production must achieve a synchronous connection. He also menstioned that the construction of the thin plate assembly line was only the first step, and more important was to form a core management team as the "seed" of the entire intelligent manufacturing of SWS. Through the exploration and operation management of the entire thin plate center establishment process, a large number of new “seeds” were cultivated for the high-quality development of SWS and the formation of intelligent manufacturing, and it would lay a solid foundation for constructing SWS into a truly intelligent shipyard for the next five or ten years.
Mr. Wang Qi, summarized in his speech that SWS raised high hopes for the construction of the thin plate assembly line, it required that the Assembly Dept, Infrastructures Construction Dept. and other departments to cooperate closely to complete the preparatory work for the thin plate assembly line and successfully complete construction planning and orderly production tasks of the cruise ship block, to make the thin plate assembly line become a model for intelligent manufacturing in Chinese shipyards. At the same time, Wang Qi requested that during the process of prophase preparation construction and late mass production of thin plate assembly line, it was necessary to pay attention to the cultivation of the talent team on one hand to improve the management skill level of the management team and lay a good foundation for English communication; on the other hand, to cultivate a technicians team and strive for a group of composite teams, not only to achieve equipment for their own use, but also to master the equipment self-study skills. He also stressed that to build the cruise ship is a glorious mission and an arduous taks. He expected the management team of the Assembly Department will maintain an open mind, through continuous learning, and jointly promote the construction, shipbuilding and education, to excellently complete glorious mission of CSSC.
After the unveiling ceremony, the top management of SWS and directors attended a symposium on the theme of “solidly promoting large cruise ship projects and assisting the high-quality development of SWS” in the conference room of Assembly Department. Representatives of Assembly Department expressed their firm confidence in fabaricating the blocks well of cruise ship project.
The establishment of the thin plate center has laid a solid foundation for SWS to realize the “Merchant Vessel, Offshore Product, and Cruise Ship developing together”, and it was an important milestone of cruise ship construction.
