From Aug.11 to 12, the expert assessment group from Shanghai Municipal Government Quality Award committee carried out the two days site assessment for “Shanghai Government Quality Award” which SWS applied for.
This site assessment was held in the meeting room 11/F, New Building. The leader from expert assessment group and Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, Mr. Liu Gang, the representative of application unit--Shanghai Shipbuilding Corporation, Mr. Mo Guangbin, the top management of SWS and persons in charge of all relevant departments attended this site assessment.
In the meeting, the President of SWS, Mr. Wang Qi briefly introduced company profile and major business process, and reported the role of top management play in company culture, corporate governance, social responsibility, strategy plan making and direction of future development. In the site assessment, the Strategy Development Dept., IT Dept., Logistic Dept., Finance Dept., HSE Dept., Design Institution, Science and Technology Dept, Quality Assurance Dept., HR Dept., Production Management Dept., Power Supply and Equipment Maintenance Dept. reported the resource management, customers and marketing determined, business relationship maintenance, management and improvement of working process, evaluation, analysis and improvement of working performance to expert assessment group respectively.
During the two-day assessment, the expert assessment had a detailed understand of top management’s philosophies and application on EPM (Excellent Performance Management) by listening to the reports, site assessment, information review and communication. The experts all agreed that SWS has the obvious advantages to company strategy, core process management, informatization and corporate culture construction. However, the expert group also offered the suggestions on the improvement of brand development strategy, KPI configuration, supplier management, staff management and knowledge management. The Vice President of SWS, Mr. Chen Jun expressed that all the departments should take time to work out all the issues, the company will take this opportunity to vigorously promote the EPM and eventually build the company as the world class shipyard.
