After the launching and keel laying of two Jack-up drilling rigs (H1288and H1289) at the end of August, the lifting and installation of 5 key structures of the first built Jack-up-H1288 was completed in No.5 Quay from Sep. 8 to Sep.13. The completion of this milestone blew the horn of outfitting and commissioning of the first built Jack-up drilling rig in the Quay Area.
The 5 lifted key structures of H1288 included cantilever beam, drill floor, derrick, helideck and No.334 block for truss legs. All the lifting work was successfully completed by the cooperation between SWS personnel and the 2500 ton floating crane-"No.5 Floating Crane Unit" from Shanghai Shipyard. For SWS, it is the first time to complete such a complicated lifting process with the different shapes which brought great difficulties for both accuracy control and the security of lifting and installation. The weight of cantilever beam which was lifted this time is 1,661 ton. It is one of the most important operation areas among the whole drilling system, as well as the modularization products with the most integrity. The whole structure was lifted integrally by the floating crane, which not only is the first time in China, but also creates the new record of the lifting capacity in SWS.
