After the launching of the first Jack-up H1288 built for POD on Aug. 28, the keel laying of the second POD Jack-up H1289 was held in No.2 Drydock on Aug. 30, that marks the construction of H1289 entered into the erection and assembly phase. It is the first time for SWS, in which there are one offshore project on quay and two projects constructing in Drydock simultaneously.
It is reported to further accelerate the construction rhythm and shorten the drydock cycle, SWS has performed the plan of enlarging the range of total assembly and pushing the grand block larger. Based on the construction experience of H1288, the grand blocks of 20A, 22E, 23E are further enlarged then before.
With enlarging of the grand blocks, the liftings of H1289 was reduced by 28 times than H1288/H1318, which paved the way for the on-time completion of integration of the main hull, the running test of main generator, the erection of lifting foundation, etc., and paved the way for shortening of the drydock cycle.
