On April 6, the Spudcans and earth wires of JU-2000E Drilling Rig built for POD from Norway was successfully passed one-time acceptance on the No.8 Platform of Assembly Dept. in SWS, and the accuracy of  quality has gained  the high recognition of the owners. The successful completion of Spudcans and  earth wires laid the foundation for the follow-up accuracy construction of pile-shoe blocks and was also a good start for the high accuracy construction of Jack-up Drilling Rig.

JU-2000E Drilling Rig has triangular hull with three triangle truss legs, which were supported by the Spudcans below. Taking the bottom plate as the bed and the upright method of pile-shoe block construction, the whole process of positioning Spudcans depends on the position of the internal earth wires, and the precision error limit should be controlled within ±1.0mm, therefore, the high accuracy construction of earth wires is most important for the whole pile-shoe construction. During the construction of Spudcans and earth wires, Accuracy Control Dept. and Assembly Dept. have co-operated to develop a detailed program of earth wire construction and to accurately monitor the every step of the earth wire construction. As the error angle is 0°and the measure error of earth wire is controlled within ±1.0mm, this earth wire construction is perfectly controlled within the standard of accuracy.

It is reported that for the high accuracy requirements of Jack-up Drilling Rig, Accuracy Control Dept. has set up a special precision project team, produced a detailed accuracy management planning book, and had the technical clarification for each stage of accuracy management project. It has laid the solid foundation for fully carrying out the accuracy management of Jack-up Drilling Rig.
