On May 5th, the 300K DWT dual-fuel very large crude carrier (VLCC) vessel jointly developed by SWS, Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) and Bureau Veritas (BV), obtained the Approval in Principle (AiP) certificate by BV.
The vessel is equipped with 10,000 cubic meters of fuel storage tanks and uses GTT's MARK III membrane cabin technology to meet the endurance needs of routes from the Middle East to the Far East and the Middle East to Europe. Compared with the traditional C-type storage tank, it arranges the LNG storage tank in the cargo hold area below the main deck, so as to effectively protect the storage tank, prevent the hidden risks of tank structure caused by bad weather, and have more flexibility and safety in ship operation.
The vessel meets the latest environmental protection requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), such as NOx Tier III and SOx, and its EEDI index is 37.5% lower than the baseline, meeting the requirements of EEDI Phase III.
