On June 16, the 2017 Shanghai Enterprises Corporate Social Responsibility Report press conference was organized in partnership with the Shanghai Federation of Economic Organizations (SFEO), the Shanghai Quality Association and the Shanghai Federation of Industrial Economics to be held in the auditorium of SAIC Anyue building. SWS was invited to the meeting and released the CSR report 2016.
The meeting announced the launching of Shanghai Enterprises Corporate Social Responsibility Report Release Online Information Platform. The report conference has held 6 sessions since 2012 and the releasing units have grown to be 244 this year from 32 units since the first session. This is the sixth time for SWS to release its corporate social responsibility report. The report put forward the theme of “transformation and upgrading” and further illustrated SWS’s achievements in performing social responsibility last year from core issues as company management, green shipbuilding and safety production cared by the related stakeholders.
SWS received 14 new orders with the deadweight of 5,586,000 DWT in 2016 and became a shipyard holding the most VLOC orders and the newly received orders ranked No.1 on the basis of deadweight. The amount of delivery was 19 ships /4.1 million DWT in 2016. The shipbuilding completions kept the first role in the domestic and world leading. The first built 158,000 DWT Suezmax oil tanker was successfully built and delivered, and the largest 400,000 DWT VLOC in China began to build.
Besides, SWS responded positively to the CSSC general requirement for absolutely winning the “Quality Improvement and Efficiency Enhancement” battle and carried out the “Quality Improvement and Efficiency Enhancement” activity in SWS, SCH and SWS Offshore, improved the management mechanism, strengthen enterprise’s internal dynamism, elevated the development quality and benefit, enhanced the inner energy. By initial statistics, SWS economized various capitals to 130 million Yuan through carrying out “Quality Improvement and Efficiency Enhancement” activity in 2016.
In 2017, SWS will further push “Lean Shipbuilding” and “Quality Improvement and Efficiency Enhancement” activity to make ultra-low cost competitiveness. Through seizing market opportunities that might appear, SWS will further enhance the market exploitation of container ships, Aframax tanker, VLOC, gas carrier and work hard for opening the market of small vessels, such as public service vessel, passenger ship, etc. Meanwhile, SWS will begin and smoothly push the work of large cruise ships’ design and construction under the collective planning and organization of CSSC.
