In the morning of October 25th, the sixth 300,000 DWT VLCC named “GENER8 MILTIADES” built by SWS for American owner GENER8 Maritime, was successfully delivered.
It is learned that the ship owner, the class surveyors and shipyard personnel maintained positive negotiations, communications and understandings, overcome various difficulties and cooperated with each other to actively keep the production plan in progress based on the principle of honesty and win-win during the construction of H1358, and finally delivered the vessel more than 2 months in advance of the contract. The ship owner is very satisfied highly praised on the level of expertise and the earnest and responsible attitude of shipyard staff.On the delivery day, the site manager of the ship owner, Alfred Oddvar Olsen, the Vice President of No.5 Business Department of China Shipbuilding Trading Company Limited, Zhang Dalei, and the Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing Department, Li Hui, signed the delivery files on behalf of each party.
Wu Yongjun, the Chief Production Director, together with representatives of other relevant parties, attended the signing ceremony and expressed the sincere congratulation to the successful delivery of this vessel. Wu Yongjun extended a warm welcome to the attending guests and gave a sincere thanks to the help and support of the owner’s site supervisory team, the class societies, CSTC and other related parties as well as all the personnel involved in the construction for their diligent work. Mr. Alfred, the ship owner’s site manager, pointed out that the successful construction and advanced delivery of the vessel under such a difficult market environment was a reflect of the mutual confidence in working hard together to brave all the difficulties.
It is learnt that, with the successful delivery of the last 300,000 DWT VLCC of this series, SWS and GENE8 Maritime had formed a close tie and established a deep friendship. In the future, both sides will seek business opportunities in more professional fields and more space for development, further deepen the cooperative relationship and compose a new story for the Sino-US new shipbuilding project.
