In the morning of May 5th, CSSC Chairman, Secretary of the CPC Committe Dong Qiang, Vice President Nan Daqing, Director of CSSC Offshore department Sheng Jigang and others conducted the investigateion in SWS. Chairman Dong Qiang and the group investigated drydocks, quaysides, safety exhibition hall, and the 18000 TEU container ship which is under construction at SWS. Then the group listened to operational work reports made by SWS top management that is headed by President Wang Qi. Chairman Dong Qiang positively commented on the achievements that SWS has made and he demanded three major points on the development of SWS. The first is stabilizing on main business. He pointed out that SWS has very clear main business, in which shipbuilding and offshore business and both stand for high accountability, in current market, stabilizing on main business is first priority, for fully preparing to further strengthen and make SWS better. Second is insisting in cost-effectiveness. Cost-effectiveness is a major indicator that SASAC evaluated enterprises, for shipbuilding companies, we seek not scale growth but better cost-effectiveness, we don't want a company of a large scale but has poor cost-effectiveness, it is for that reason that enterprises should be cost-effectiveness oriented when considering its developmental path. Third is risk control. Chairman Dong Qiang fully affirmed all risk control precautions taken in SWS, and he then requested those to be continued, especially on uncertainties, strictly control all risks. At last, Chairman Dong Qiang highly emphasized on safety production which requires eliminating potential field hazards. CSSC Assistant President, Chairman of SWS, Secretary of CPC Committee, Hong Yongxi stated that the instructions and guidance of Chairman Dong Qiang has pointed out will be actively and accurately implemented, together with the meeting spirit of CSSC economic operation analysis in Q1, for the comprehensive implementation of all CSSC requirements. Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee Zhu Dadi, Vice President Xu Ping, CTO Tao Ying, Vice President Zhu Yu, Chen Gang and others attended investigation. In the afternoon of May 5th, Dong Qiang, CSSC Chairman, Secretary of CPC Committee President and Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee Wu Qiang and others, accompanied by SWS Chairman Huang Yongxi and President Wang Qi conduct the investigation in SWS Offshore. Chairman Dong Qiang and the group investigated combined workshop at Manufacturing dept, production lines of jack-up rig lock device and spud legs at Assembly dept, grand assembling of accommodation workshop at Piping Fabrication dept, and JU2000E jack-up rig and PSV that are under construction, the group also listened to reports made by top management of SWS Offshore. Chairman Dong Qiang, President Wu Qiang positively commented on the implementation of comprehensive restructuring developmental strategy at SWS Offshore and its attitudes of actively expanding offshore market, it is further demanded the strict implementation of national strategy regarding "developing marine economy, strengthening the nation of ocean", further improve management, completing annual operational performance tasks at no cost.
