On March 17, the bulk carriers---"Cape Australia" and "Cape America" built for U-ming were christened in SWS. Like double stars, the two huge vessels are docking at the mouth of Yangtze River. The "Cape Australia" were delivered on the same day, and her sister vessel---"Cape America" will also be delivered in the near future. It is worth mentioning that "Cape Australia" is the first 186,000 DWT Capesize Bulk Carrier delivered in SWS, which is also the first one of this type in global shipping market. As her notable features of good performance and energy saving, this type of vessel has gained the warm responses from owners since her launching in the international market, that brought the steady flow of orders to the company. Depending on the long-term vision and the attention to the environmental protection and energy saving, U-ming Marine Transport Corporation has successively ordered eight 186,000 DWT Capesize Bulk Carriers in SWS, which has become the first beneficiary of this type of vessel. The Naming Ceremony was greatly held at No. 3 Quay in SWS, which was hosted by the Vice President of SWS---Mr. Chen Jun. The two sponsors---Ms. Christina Apostolopoulos, who is the trading manager of Rio Tinto, and Ms. Daisy L Hung, who is the Renowned Scientist of National Central University in Taiwan, respectively christened H1291 and H1290 as "Cape Australia" and "Cape America". The Chairman of Far Eastern Group ---Mr. Douglas Tong Hsu, Vice President of CSSC---Mr. Sun Yunfei, and Vice President of CSSC, Board Chairman of SWS---Mr. Huang Yongxi delivered speeches on the ceremony respectively. Since October 2012, SWS has successfully delivered four 206,000 DWT Newcastle Bulk Carriers to U-ming Marine Transport Corporation. On this basis, SWS and U-ming have established the long-term cooperation, and will create the new chapter on win-win between the shipping companies in Taiwan and shipbuilding enterprises in Shanghai. As the upgrading product of traditional Capesize Bulk Carrier, the 186,000 bulk carrier enriched the shipyard product types, which meets the strategic requirement of SWS' restructuring, and enhances the dominant position of SWS as the global construction center of bulk carriers.
