On Apr. 22, the Naming Ceremony of H1247—the second 206K DWT Newcastlemax Bulk Carrier built for U-Ming was held on No.1 Quay in SWS.
In July 2010, SWS signed construction contracts for four 20,600 DWT Newcastle Bulk Carriers with U-Ming from Taiwan, which has open a new chapter of cooperation and win-win for both sides. Taking today's naming ceremony as an opportunity, the two sides will further establish the nership. SWS will build high quality ships for the owner with the most professional management, the most excellent quality and the most excellent service, to ensure the completion and delivery of the follow-up ships.
Mr Nan Daqing, Vice President of CSSC mentioned in his speech that within half month, there were two ships named in SWS, which were both built for Taiwan owners. It was the fruitful achievements of the mutual benefit and win-win cooperation for cross-strait shipping industry and the shipbuilding industry, while confronting the current international financial crisis. Through the increasing frequent cooperation and communication, the shipbuilding enterprises of China Mainland and the shipping companies in Taiwan not only have deepened the understanding and mutual trust between each other, but also established a platform for expanding the cooperation and communication.
After Ms. Zeng Jingxuan named this new constructed vessel as "CAPE NEPTUNE", she unveiled this huge vessel with blessing of all attendees.
H1247 is the new generation Newcastle bulk carrier, which has won the favor from owners since it entering into market officially in 2009. By the end of March this year, the orders for this type of vessels have reached more than 50, which have become one of the key products of SWS.
