On Dec. 4th, National Working Area Evaluation Conference 2012 was held in Hefei, Anhui Province. Material Preparation Working Area of Manufacturing Dept., SWS was awarded the title of "National Five-Star Working Area in 2012" and received recognition in the conference. Mr. Yangjie, the Head of Material Preparation Section, on behalf of SWS, delivered a speech on the management experiences of working site during the Conference. Confronting with the downturn of Shipping Market, the top management of SWS paid great attention to management promotion of working site with flexibly analyzing the situation. SWS has focused on evaluation of working site management and carried out scientific quality control method to achieve quality improvement, efficiency increase, cost reduction, saving resource, environment protection and eventually to boost management promotion as well as ship-owners satisfaction. From the beginning of implementing management evaluation of working site in SWS till the Material Preparation Working Area was awarded the title of "National Five-Star Working Area", it had passed over one year. In the over one year time, there were totally 8 working sites in SWS, SCS and SLO had applied to attend the management evaluation of Shanghai working site. There were only 30 units standing out from the over hundreds candidates selected as Five Star Working Site through the document auditing and site inspection by CHINA QUALITY ASSOCIATION. It is reported the Material Preparation Working Area was the only unit of shipbuilding industry in China which was awarded National Five-Star Working Site, it means that SWS has taken the lead of the China Shipbuilding Industry on management evaluation of working site.
