In the morning of Aug 19th, SWS observed the grand inauguration of the “Science and Technology (Scien-Tech) Innovation Center“, and the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation agreement between Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipubilding & Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd (SWS Engineering) and Alfa-Laval. President of SWS Mr. Sheng Jigang, SWS Chief Technical Officer (CTO) Mr. Tao Ying, SWS Chief Technologist Mr. Liu Jianfeng, together with President of Alfa-Laval China Division Mr. Jan Debruyn, General Manager of Alfa-Laval Global Marine Products Mr. Niclas Dahl, Vice President of Alfa-Laval Marine Products China Division Mrs. Ye Wen and other leadership attended the ceremony.
Mr. Sheng Jigang and Mr. Tao Ying jointly unveiled
the nameplate for the Sci-tech Innovation Center. It is said that the Sci-tech
Innovation Center shall focus on present development of new shipbuilding
technology, especially with the emerging new chances of upgrading of supporting
equipment brought by the application of environmental-protecting technologies
like dual fuels and low carbon emission, explore new business modes of
cooperation and joint investment between SWS and suppliers, expand the equipment
supporting and project general “turnkey project” market in the fields of conventional
vessels and offshore projects, and strive to make the Scien-tech Innovation
Center a new engine which drives the development of SWS Engineering.
Both parties reviewed the successful
cooperation experience and carried out a discussion on ways of cooperation in
the future at the ceremony. Besides of this, both parties also reached a
consensus to strengthen the communication on technology of cruise ship
construction. As per the strategic cooperation MOU signed this time, both
parties shall give full play to their advantages and start from green and
environmental-protecting marine products; SWS Engineering and SWS shall lay
foundations on conventional vessels and offshore products, R&D, future construction
capability of large cruise ships, production site and facility recourses;
guided by global famous brand, advanced technology and management of
Alfa-Laval, both parties shall work together and achieve win-win.
After the signing ceremony, the Scien-tech
Innovation Center held a kick-off meeting. Chairman of the Board and CPC Party
Committee Secretary Mr. Wang Qi, President , Mr. Sheng Jigang, CTO Mr. Tao
Ying, Chief Technologist Mr. Liu Jianfeng and
relevant SWS and SWS Engineering departmental management attended the
meeting. Mr. Tao Ying chaired the meeting. The meeting announced the “Notice to
Launch the Scien-tech Innovation Center (Preparation)”, and the manager of the Scien-tech
Innovation Center (Preparation) Mr. Zhou Jiong made a report focus on background,
strategic goal, core position, model of business cooperation and implementation
plan of the center.
SWS top management requested that SWS
Engineering should take the set up of the Scien-tech Innovation Center as an
opportunity, make the center an incubator, a driving source and a new engineof
the growth point of SWS with creation of core technology and exploration and
innovation of business mode; SWS Engineering should set the goal to “ create
the world-class design center”, take full advantages and make up weaknesses,
keep perfecting the talents cultivation and appraisal system, optimize the
assessment and distribution stimulation system, and add soaring wings to
development of SWS actively.
